a girlie gal

Three dresses, a pair of boots and a jersey. This girl was ready to get her senior photos on! She was lively and sweet. I enjoyed meeting V, her mom and her brother this morning. V is a girl after my own heart - on the yearbook staff and the newspaper staff at her Mesquite high school.

Good luck, V, on your future adventures in graphic design!

*not sure why these pictures sometimes appear grainy on the blog but I can promise you, they are not grainy in real life.

the latest

I have had four shoots this week and it is always so much fun to meet new people, capture all the different personalities and get creative. Three out of the four were taken in the same area but all three of these took on different spins - people are different and so are pictures. Here's the latest.

Monday morning: Mom & Son

Tuesday: Mesquite senior

Wednesday: Mother & Daughter (working on a scrapbook project for a birthday gift, hence the variety)

And there you have it. Variety.

It's about that time to go back to school. But, I am here if you need me!

boots, love and senior year

This week has been wild, crazy and so much fun! Six photo shoots later, I am on the downhill side of editing and getting the last proofs CD out tomorrow before we head to the beach. This vacation could not have come at a better time to slow me down and force me to relax. Although, I don't see me relaxing much since I am taking my camera. I'm sure to capture lots of memories and cause lots of irritation. My boys are not fans of smiling and/or looking at the camera. They are way too cool for that. (I'll have new "victims" to play with because my cousin's two kids are going) . So, I'll be out of commision for a week but I am just an email or a phone call away. I have a couple shoots when I come back and many inquiries. Don't wait too long, summer prices are only good through September 1st.

Here's my week at a glance.

Western Day at Gotta Scrap! (August 15th will be "vintage school pictures" - grab some new school clothes, the backpack and head on out for some cute pictures!)

They're getting hitched!

She's a SeNiOr! SR'10 (and also one of my former students that I adored in 5th grade and still love so much).

Thank all of you for letting me be a part of your lives, I hope we captured memories for you to cherish forever!

let's frame it!

I am a teacher and am very blessed to have an occupation that I have always dreamed of having. I have recently discovered something else that I enjoy tremendously and would like to take the hobby to another level. I am beginning some photography. There are four ways to describe this new passion. Addicted. Obsessed. Fanatic. Love it.

Here is my first official photo shoot of a senior that I had the privilege of teaching in 5th grade. He was a great first subject and really got me wanting to do this more often, in different places and people of all ages.

And then there are my kids that I have been practicing on for years.

And, thanks to the girlfriend, I even got some of my brother.

Thanks for looking. I hope to hear from you!
